SWTWC Steering Committee Member Kristin Decas Selected as Top Port Director of 2017

May 30, 2018

The Southwest Transportation Workforce Center (SWTWC) congratulates its esteemed steering committee member Kristin Decas for being selected as the 2017 Top Port Director of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). Decas currently serves as the CEO and Director for the Port of Hueneme. Prior to working at the Port of Hueneme, she served as CEO and Director for the Port of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Decas was the first woman to serve as the director at either port. Both ports saw considerable growth financially under her leadership, which in turn created positive economic and social impacts in the local communities.

Decas was chair of the American Association of Port Authorities for 2014-2015. In 2017, she was awarded an appointment by the U.S. Department of Transportation to the National Freight Advisory
