Transportation Occupations Survey – Consent to Participate in Research

September 11, 2017

You are being asked to participate in a research study conducted by the Southwest Transportation Workforce Center, located at California State University Long Beach. You were selected as a possible participant in this study because of your expertise in transportation planning. Please read and scroll down to be redirected to the survey.

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY

The key objective of this research will be to develop models for effective coordination and collaboration between and among education and training institutions and local and regional transportation organizations for the purposes of workforce development. The study is phased out over three years. We first assess the ways in which local and regional transportation agencies work with other public sector partners, the private and non-profit sectors, and the educational community to respond to workforce development needs. We use that knowledge to identify effective strategies for the transference of collaborative skills. Finally, we test our strategies through the development and implementation of pilot education and training programs.

If you volunteer to participate in this study, you will do the following things:

1. Read this consent form thoroughly and check the appropriate box below giving your consent to participate in the study.

2. Upon completion of this form, you will be asked a series of questions as part of an online survey. The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The survey consists of questions about your organization, including questions about your existing educational and workforce training programs and needs, and anticipated future needs.
