Labor Market Analysis

SWTWC performs labor market analysis to identify workforce and training needs for various transportation sectors. The SWTWC team uses these findings to empower a broad coalition of stakeholder groups to design educational opportunities that are informed by data to find common cause for transportation workforce calls to action, business initiatives, and related public awareness and education campaigns.

Initially released in two phases, the “Job Needs and Priorities Reports” for the Southwest Region can be downloaded using the links below:

Job Needs and Priorities Report, Phase One

Job Needs and Priorities Report, Phase Two

SWTWC has recently published an important follow-up effort that highlights a series of workforce priorities that are critical to addressing the region’s growing demand for more transportation workers. By supplementing traditional labor market data with strategic workforce research and action planning, SWTWC’s “2020 State of the Transportation and Mobility Workforce Report” shares guidance on how to move the transportation industry and its workforce into the future.
